The Rabbit Hole - 7th Edition
Welcome back to The Rabbit Hole. Back to your regularly scheduled programming.
Life Update: But before that, I’d like to express my gratitude to y’all for the response to last week's letter. That’s certainly the most vulnerable I’ve been on here, and I was nervous about what the reactions would be, but I was happy to receive all of the positive messages as a result.
OK. Life has been good. This past week has consisted of what most male folks in my age demographic week consisted of. College Football 25. It’s taken over the world, and it is glorious. I made my first big boy purchase on Friday when I picked up my Xbox and downloaded the game. I ended up staying up that night until around 4:00 in the morning playing when I had to be up at 7:30 for a work event so that was fun. It’s consumed me for the better. My first thought in the morning, and my last thought when I go to sleep.
Other than that, I reunited with the Rabbits after a weekend away. Jmart and Kirkey seem to still be AWOL, or they’re just ducking me. Regardless, if they don’t show their faces soon, there will be hell to pay.
The afternoon of Saturday felt like such a waste because I got off work at 12:30 pm, then I had to get my screen repaired, and the dude said it would take 3 hours. So I was stuck in Toledo all afternoon, and I even almost napped through when the store closed, so I had to make a mad dash to pick it up in time.
Creative Corner: I missed last week’s The Christian Show because of my trip, but I returned on Monday, which was nice. One of my better episodes, I’d say which I was pleased with. I’ve been meaning to get al of the episodes I’ve recorded up on Spotify at some point, but I just haven’t gotten around to it. There are some good movies coming in the next few weeks, so be on the lookout for those!
I finally downloaded my social media apps back, and it came at the perfect time because now I have no time to scroll as my entire livelihood consists of cfb25! A far more healthy obsession, I’d say.
Content I’ve Consumed this Week Cave: For this week’s show, I was doing a 2024 midway (sort of) recap. So I counted down my top 10 and bottom 5 films of the year thus far, as well as spoke on my overall thoughts on the quality of the year and where it ranks within the current decade. So, a few movies. I saw 2 new ones in theaters consisting of Longlegs, which is still haunting me over a week later, as well as Twisters. which was the movie of the summer. I saw it for a second time last night.
I’ve also been listening to mostly podcasts in the car as opposed to music. The whole reason my love for Noah Kahan and, more recently, Zach Bryan began was because I had grown tired of listening to my one rap playlist for the past 6-7 years of my life. Now I’m running into the same problem again. The process just ran its course far more quickly because I’ve been listening to a playlist with only two artists on it for the past couple of months. I’ve been really liking the podcast vibe, though. You can learn things while driving! It’s like reading without having to read!
Riffin’ Recap: Sam and I had a funny interaction with one of Jack’s friends on Saturday night. We ran an S-Tier 2-man lying scheme on this poor guy. Can’t remember his name. He asked me what I was doing this summer, and I started telling him bout this job I have this summer in finance. He asks me to tell him more about it, and Sam immediately jumps in and hypes me up with jargon I could never have known. A true friend. It seemed like he bought it, the poor guy.
Our natural tendency to lie about inconsequential things is one of the best social strategies we’ve developed. CBTM.

Thank you, Uncle Drew. I’d also like to throw a quick shoutout to Andrew for his recent write-up on James Gunn’s use of music throughout his career. I love to see my friends follow their passions, and I know he’s been wanting to do something like this for a while. On top of that, it’s an insightful read. I’m looking forward to seeing what he does next!
Talk next week!
