The Rabbit Hole - 2nd Edition

Welcome back to The Rabbit Hole! I hope everyone had a great week, let’s dive in.
I’d like to start by thanking you all for the great reception of the first edition. Everyone seemed to enjoy it, I even got a couple of heartwarming texts following its release. Having new projects of mine welcomed and supported by the people whose opinions matter the most is the only confirmation I needed to keep doing the thing!
Enough with that sappy shit. LET’S GET FUCKING CRAZY…
Wiiiiitttthhhhhhh a Life Update. I know. Riveting stuff. I had a good week. Closed out the work week smoothly; my boss was out on Friday so I dicked around and watched three movies! Always good to get a triple feature done, no matter the place. My movie-watching stats seemed to have plummeted recently. Even now that school is done, I’m still working full-time and I can’t seem to find the motivation to pay attention to something for any movie’s duration. I’m gonna make it more of a point to get through at least a few more a week from now on. This will hold me accountable. Since work has started, I’ve also pretty much gone cold turkey on wrestling consumption. It’s really hard to keep up with, and I have so much content I like to consume. It seems to cycle through different stages. For a certain period, I’ll pick up a new content source, and I’ll unintentionally drop one of my existing ones. Maybe this week I’ll focus on more wrestling and less Friday Beers content, for instance.
I’ve even begun regularly watching WNBA games. These rookies have put a spotlight on the sport and they’ve got people watching. It’s actually a much better product than the general public (bigots and incels) previously led me to believe. I’ve adopted the Dallas Wings as my favorite team, the reason being they were previously Detroit’s WNBA team before relocating first to Tulsa, and now to Dallas. It also helped that Arike Ogunbowale was the league’s leading scorer at the time. Unfortunately, they’ve lost both games I’ve watched since I began following them, but hoping for a bounceback!
Final little life update I see G tomorrow for the first time in a month 🙂 Very excited!
Creative Corner: I’m not sure if this will be a weekly segment, but I did have an update regarding my skit writing ventures. I’ve been workshopping a few concepts this week and one of the first drafts is almost done. I’m not sure it’s too good but hey, it’s my first attempt at writing a sketch, so go easy on me. I’ll hopefully drop it here or in the slack in the coming week.
Content I’ve Consumed this Week Cave: OK the title for this segment is a bit. I didn’t feel like thinking of something fun, so I’ll take suggestions. I mentioned Friday Beers, and I just talked sketch comedy, so this will be a perfect segue. On the most recent episode of the Almost Friday Podcast, Will and Liam briefly mentioned the new episode of a show they both watch, called Smiling Friends. The show sounded vaguely familiar so I looked it up and it turns out it’s an Adult Swim show which isn’t something that would typically be my vibe, but I'm always fascinated with what my creative inspirations are inspired by. So I threw on episode 1 and ended up watching the entirety of both seasons that same day. I’m now a massive fan of the show and it’s some of the funniest material I’ve seen recently. I immediately saw the influence the show had on the comedy styles of the Almost Friday guys. I’d highly recommend it, the episodes are only ten minutes each, so low commitment. You can watch it on Max. The pilot is gold, I also really liked the season one finale. The humor won’t be for everyone but to me, there isn’t a single miss.
First Ever Rabbit Spotlight: This is G’s idea, but I liked it so much I’m featuring it in this week’s edition. Each week, I’ll spin a wheel selecting a Rabbit at random to be that week’s Rabbit Spotlight! This week, I sat down with (emailed him a Google form) none other than The Doc himself, Mr. Avery Berkebile. Here is an in-depth look into the mind behind the TV-loving, ice-cream-microwaving man. I hope his responses are satisfactory.

(Also, thank you to Avery for getting me his answers in time, I sent them to him on Tuesday morning and he had just started his job so much love to him.)
That’s all for this week! Hope you enjoyed. Catch y’all same time next week.
